AMTALI, BARGUNA, Nov 6: Students of Anti-Discrimination Movement in Amtali Upazila of the district have launched fair price bazar of vegetables to break syndicate of unscrupulous traders.
The bazar was inaugurated in Natun Bazar Chourasta on Monday morning.
The fair price market selling onion, garlic, potato, bottle gourd, bottle gourd leaves, bitter gourd, brinjal, chilli and others was opened by student leader Md Abdullah.
At 10am the bazar was inaugurated by Amtali Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Muhammad Ashraful Alam as the chief guest.
Officer-in-Charge of Amtali Police Station Md Ariful Islam spoke as special guest.
Among others, Samakal Amtali Upazila Representative Md Zakir Hossain, Amtali Kaler Kontha Representative Hayatuzzaman Miraj, student representatives Injamamul Haq Abid, Billal Hossain, Golam Rabbi, Moiti and Bayezid Hossain Tamim spoke.
Amtali representative of Nagorik Bhabna Md Fakruddin, Desh Protidin Journalist Md Rubel Hossain, Dainik Bhorer Somoy Amtali representstive Md Bayezid Talukdar, Dainik Purbanchal Amtali Representative Biraj Kumar Biswas, Bangladesh Somachar Amtali Representative Mainul Islam Raju, Channel Amtali Representative Md Symon, Channel Amtal Voice Presenter Sabikun Nahar, and Dainik Sorbin News Amtali Representative Sonia Aktar were present at the meeting.
Amtali UNO said, "Businessmen in syndication have increased prices of essentials; considering the plight of low-income people, students have taken the initiative of fair price bazar. It is a praiseworthy initiative.
