2,870 kg  polythene bags seized, Tk 20,000 fined at Baraigram

NATORE, Nov 6: A mobile court in the district recovered 2,870 kilogram (kg) polythene bags worth about Tk 4.5 lakh and fined its trader Tk 20,000 for keeping the bags stored in Baraigram Upazila of the district on Monday. 

The trader is identified Niranjan Kumer Sarker, a trader of Bonpara Bazar in the upazila.
The mobile court was conducted in the godown of Niranjan Shoe Store at Bonpara Bazar in the  noon. 

Rizu Tamanna, senior assistant commissioner and executive magistrate of the district administration led the mobile court. 

Anti-polythene bag drive is going on throughout the country in order to stop selling and use of polythene bags for keeping environment safe from harming. 

Md Borhan Uddin, inspector of the District Environment Office and police force were present at the time of the mobile court operation.
