The throat-slit bodies of two youths have been recovered by police from a flat of four-storeyed house at Kashimpur in Gazipur.
Their bodies were recovered from the house owned by Rezaul Karim at Madhabpur (Uttarpara) in Kashimpur at about 2:00am on Wednesday.
Kashimpur Police Station's officer-in-charge (OC) Saiful Islam confirmed it.
Receiving information, Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI), Gazipur and Kashimpur police went to the place of occurrence.
The slain youths were Rasel Hossain, 23, son of late Rabiul Islam, of village Chandpur under Debhata upazila in Satkhira district, and Sufian, 24, son of Zafar Ali, of village Char Bhedura under Sadar upazila in Bhola district. Both of them used to do packaging work at the godown of a factory living in a rented flat of Rezaul Karim.
Police and locals said slain Rasel and Sufian were doing packaging job at a godown of a factory residing in the flat on the third floor of the building. The factory owner informed caretaker Bakul of the house that Rasel and Sufian did not go to the godown of the factory on Tuesday. Then caretaker Bakul got onto the third floor of the building and found throat-slit bodies of Rasel and Sufian were lying on the floor. Then he phoned police. After reaching the spot, Kashimpur police recovered the bodies.
Kashimpur Police Station's officer-in-charge (OC) Saiful Islam said the bodies were sent to the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital morgue in Gazipur after the recovery of the bodies.
Police have also launched an investigation into who were involved in the murders.
