The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has announced a slight reduction in the price of a 12kg LPG cylinder for the month of November. The new price has been set at Tk 1,455, which marks a Tk 1 decrease from the previous month's price of Tk 1,456. As a result, the price per kg of LPG will now be Tk 121.25, down from Tk 121.32 in October.
While the price for a 12kg LPG cylinder has decreased, prices for other cylinder sizes ranging from 5.5kg to 45kg will increase proportionately. This change comes after four consecutive price hikes over the past few months, offering some relief to consumers.
In addition to LPG cylinder prices, the cost of autogas (LPG used for motor vehicles) has also been adjusted. The new price for autogas is set at Tk 66.84 per litre, including VAT. This new pricing structure will take effect from 6:00 pm on November 5.
These price revisions reflect BERC's ongoing efforts to manage fuel costs amidst fluctuating market conditions. We encourage all concerned parties to take note of the changes and plan accordingly.
