2 women held with 30kg hemp in Madaripur

Police in a drive arrested two alleged women drug peddlers along with 30 kg of hemp from Ghoshalkandi village under Rajair police station in Madaripur district. 

Being tipped off, the drive was conducted on Monday night under the direction of Superintendent of Police (SP) in Madaripur district Saifuzzaman and the leadership of sub-inspector Sheikh Nurul Islam.

The arrested are Khadija Begum, 30, a tenant of Minzal Fakir of Ghoshalkandi Paschim Para village, and Kajal Begum, 32, another tenant of the same house.

According to police sources, both of them are residents of Talkanda village of Bhanga police station in Faridpur district. They have been involved in drug trade for a long time.

SP Saifuzzaman said that a case has been registered with Rajoir police station and the ant-drug campaign will continue.
