Body of missing van driver found in Savar, 2 held

Police recovered the half-melted body of a van driver, who had been missing since October 31, in Savar on Monday night.

The body was found in an abandoned house in North Metka area under Tetuljhora union in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Delower, 31, son of Nur Nabi, a hailed from Noakhali district. He had been living in a rented house in the Savar area.

Two friends of the deceased have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Family members of the deceased claimed that a group of miscreants had hacked Delower to death and left his body beside in a brick kiln in the area. Locals spotted the body and informed the police on Monday night.

On information, police recovered the body and sent it to a morgue for an autopsy, said Amir Hossain, sub-inspector of Savar Model Police Station.

A murder case has been filed at the police station, and two friends of the deceased were arrested for questioning, the police official added.
