Minor child drowns in Kishoreganj

A minor child drowned in a pond in Hossainpur upazila of Kishoreganj district on Tuesday.

The accident took place in the morning at Purba Dwipeshwar village under Araibaria union of the upazila.
The dead Eva Akter, 1.5, was the daughter of Himel Mia of that village.

According to locals, Eva was playing at home in the morning. At one stage, the family could not find her. Later, relatives spotted her floating unconscious in the pond next to their house. She was rescued and taken to Hossainpur Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared her dead.

Araibaria Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Khurshid Uddin confirmed the matter.
