BNP has announced new committee appointments in four major cities, including Dhaka North, and six districts, as part of its strategy to strengthen party organization ahead of the upcoming national elections.
The announcement, signed by Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, listed appointments for Dhaka North, Chattogram, Barishal, Sylhet, and several districts, including Moulvibazar, Sunamganj, Brahmanbaria, Kushtia, Mymensingh South, and Sherpur.
In Dhaka North, Aminul Haque, a former national football team captain, will serve as convener, with Mostafa Zaman as member secretary on the six-member partial committee. This follows the recent dissolution of the previous Dhaka North committee led by Saiful Alam Nirob, who had only held the role for two and a half months.
Chattogram city now has a 53-member committee with Ershadullah as convener and Nazimuddin Rahman as member secretary. Barishal’s 42-member committee is led by Moniruzzaman Khan Faruk as convener and Ziauddin Sikder Zia as member secretary. Meanwhile, Sylhet's BNP city unit received a 170-member committee, appointing Rezaul Hasan Koyes Ludi as acting president and Imdad Hossain Chowdhury as general secretary.
In Moulvibazar and Sunamganj, Faizur Rahman Moyun and Kalim Uddin Ahmad Milon have been named conveners, respectively, though member secretaries were not designated. Brahmanbaria’s committee will be led by Advocate Abdul Mannan as convener and Sirajul Islam Siraj as member secretary.
Kushtia's BNP committee will have Kutub Uddin Ahmed as convener and Engineer Md Zakir Hossain Sarkar as member secretary. For Mymensingh South, Md Zakir Hossain Babul will serve as convener with Rokonuzzaman Sarkar Rokon as member secretary, while Sherpur’s committee is led by Md Hazrat Ali as convener and Advocate Md Sirajul Islam as member secretary.
These updates are part of BNP’s broader restructuring efforts aimed at reinforcing the party’s organizational structure and rallying support as they prepare for the electoral process.
