Home Adviser Lt Gen (Retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury on Sunday said the 2009 BDR mutiny will be reinvestigated within a short period of time.
The adviser, however, could not ensure whether a commission will be formed to investigate the BDR carnage.
"An investigation team will be formed very soon," the home adviser came up with comments in responding to a question from reporters after a visit to the Border Guard Bangladesh headquarters in Pilkhana.
Replying to another question he said law and order in the country has improved slightly but it is not satisfactory yet and more improvement is needed.
"You know the government has changed almost all police personnel in Dhaka. The new police personnel will take time to learn the alleys and lanes and make a network," he added.
The adviser said no criminals will be spared, no matter how powerful they are, though many influential criminals were spared before.
Regarding the BGB, he suggested the frontier battalion maintain a cordial relationship with people who can help them in several ways.
About the influx of drugs, he strictly instructed the BGB to strengthen vigilance to check the smuggling of phensedyl and other drugs through borders.
Acknowledging the intrusion of some Rohingyas recently, the advisers said they will be sent back as the number of Rohingyas has already reached around 1.3 million.
Earlier, he held a meeting with senior officials and others at the BGB headquarters. BGB chief Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui was also present.
