Students of Jagannath University staged a demonstration at Tanti Bazar in Old Dhaka on Monday, demanding the transfer of the university's second campus construction project to the Army and action on related issues. The blockade, led by the university's student body, began at noon and continued for over half an hour, calling attention to three primary demands.

The students have outlined their grievances and demands: they seek legal action against the current project director, who they allege was appointed under a previous authoritarian regime and accuse of corruption. They also called for the Ministry of Education to appoint a qualified Army officer as project director within seven days. Additionally, they requested a formal announcement regarding the transfer of the project to the Army, prioritising construction of student halls, and demanded the acquisition of the remaining 11 acres of land necessary for the project. Students also called for an end to "unethical agreements" relating to the old campus that they claim were enacted under the previous administration.
