Minor drowns at Nageshwari

A minor boy drowned in a pond in Nageshwari Upazila of Kurigram on Monday morning.

The incident took place in Bamantari Village of the upazila at around 7 am.
The deceased was identified as Meraz Babu, 4, son of Al Amin, a resident of the village.

Police and local sources said Meraz was playing beside a pond next to the house in the morning. At one stage, he slipped into the pond accidentally, and drowned there.

Later on, local people recovered his body from the pond.

Officer-in-Charge of Nageshwari Police Station Mizanur Rahman confirmed the incident.
