Six more patients died of dengue while 1,306 more people were hospitalized with viral fever across the country in the last 24 hours till Monday morning.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with the new casualties the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease rose to 320 this year.
In the recent fatalities, three were reported in the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and one in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and two in Chattogram division (outside of the city corporations).
Among the new patients, 264 were admitted to the hospitals in DNCC, while 3338 in Dhaka division (excluding CC), 143 in DSCC, 185 in Chattogram division. Meanwhile, 1,259 people were released from hospitals during the 24 hours and 61,304 till November 4.
Currently, 4,112 patients are receiving treatment in various hospitals across the country.
A total of 65,768 dengue cases have been reported Since January 1, 2024.
Last year was particularly severe, with 1,705 deaths recorded, making it the deadliest year on record.
