Child drowns in Kurigram

A minor boy drowned in a pond at Nageshawri upazila in Kurigram district on Monday.

The incident happened at around 7:00am at Bamantari village in tha upazila.

The deceased was identified as Meraz Babu, 4, son of Al Amin, a resident of the area.

Police said that Meraz suddenly fell into the pond while he was playing beside it and drowned.

Later, local people recovered his body from the pond.

Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Nagshwari Police Station, confirmed the incident.
