The country's law and order situation has improved slightly, but it is still not satisfactory and more improvement is needed, said Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam on Monday.

"We are changing almost all of Dhaka's police. It will take time to get to know every alley in Dhaka, to built up intelligence network."

He made these comments while speaking to reporters after visiting the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) headquarters in Pilkhana in the morning.
"Investigation team for BDR carnage will be formed very soon."

Jahangir Alam added, "We have also made many changes in the BGB. This is why it is taking some time, but the situation is gradually improving."

Regarding the BGB, he suggested the frontier battalion maintain a cordial relationship with people who can help them in several ways.
