A man allegedly killed 45-year-old village doctor (kabiraj), whom the accused suspected of causing his father's death, at Chunarughat upazila in Habiganj district.

However, RAB arrested the accused Deepak Bhaumij along with the murder weapon, a sharp machete and took into custody following his confession.
Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Md. Azizur Rahman Sarkar confirmed the details at a press conference on Sunday afternoon.

Earlier, on October 12, Shanicharan Santal alias Ajit's body was discovered in a paddy field in Deundi Tea Garden's Fulchhari Hill area after he was reportedly killed by having his throat slit. Ajit's brother, Anil Santal, subsequently filed a police report, which led to use of technology to track down Deepak, who was arrested with the help of RAB on Saturday night in Madhabpur.

According to the police official, Deepak reportedly harbored resentment toward Ajit, whom he held responsible for his father Nakul Bhaumij's death years earlier. On October 12, as Ajit was returning home from the market, Deepak confronted him. Following an argument, Deepak attacked and fatally hacked Ajit to death, leaving his body in a nearby field.

The press conference was attended by Chunarughat Police Station OC Mohammad Nazrul Islam and Investigating Officer Liton Roy.
