Police arrested a leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) from Turag on Sunday in five cases filed over the murders during the recent students movement.
The arrestee was Masud Ali alias Kala Masud, 25, a vice-president of Ward No 1, Uttara unit BCL.
Mohammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan of Police (DMP), said Masud is an accused in five murder cases, including Alamgir Hossain murder, in Uttara during the student movement.
He said police after analyzing the intelligence information and the CCTV footage in surrounding areas arrested Masud from Ahaliya area of Turag on Sunday.
Besides, there are three narcotics cases against Masud in Uttara West Police Station, he added.
