Human chain demands justice for Nayan’s murder

PABNA, Nov 3: A human chain was formed in Ishwardi Upazila of the district on Saturday morning, demanding arrest of and trial for the killers of businessman Nayan Mandal.

Nayan's family and local businessmen organized the human chain at Joynagar Shimultala Bazar in Salimpur Union of the upazila.
Former union chairman Atiyar Rahman, Dr Mojibur Rahman, Joynagar Bazar Samity President Dablo Hossain, General Secretary Afzal Hossain, Treasurer Mannan Sarkar, deceased Nayan's father Mojibul Mandal and his wife and others took part in the human chain.

Speakers said, it has been a month since Nayan's murder, but the police have not yet arrested the accused. Common people and businessmen are suffering from insecurity, he added. 

They gave an ultimatum of 72 hours for quick arrest of the accused.

Traffic was stopped on both sides of the road during the human chain. Inspector (Investigation) of Ishwardi Police Station Monirul Islam came and assured the speedy arrest of the accused. After an hour, traffic returned to normal.

On October 10, Nayan Mandal's body was recovered from a litchi garden in Baraichara Village. He went missing the night before. Nayan was a businessman and electronic mechanic in Shimultala Bazar.
