Five people were sent to jail in two separate cases filed over vandalizing and torching two vehicles of the army and the police in Kochukhet area of the capital on October 31.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate GM Farhan Ishtiaq passed the order on Sunday after police
produced the five before the court and pleaded to keep them behind the bars till the end of the investigation.
The five accused are-- Alamgir, Reshma Khatun, Mahfuz Miah, Aminul Islam and Qazi Russel.
Bangladesh Army detained them from Bhashantek and Kafrul areas of Dhaka on November 2.
Of them, Mahfuz and Aminul were shown arrested in the case lodged with the Kafrul Police Station while Alamgir, Reshma and Russel were shown arrested in a case filed with the Bhashantek Police Station.
With them, so far, eight persons were detained by the army in connection with the vandalism and torching vehicles in the mentioned areas on October 31.
Earlier three people-- Rifat, Hridoy and Yasin--have been detained by army personnel, ISPR press release confirmed on Friday night.
