Traffic violations: DMP awards fines worth Tk 93 lakh in 2 days

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) traffic division imposed fines totaling Tk 92,96,000 during operations against traffic rule violators in the last two days (Thursday and Friday).

Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, announced in a media release on Saturday afternoon that an additional 2,527 cases were filed over the two days, reports UNB.

A total of 166 vehicles were dumped, and 71 other vehicles were towed during the drives, he said.

He added that the DMP's efforts to enforce traffic regulations in the Dhaka metropolitan area will continue.
