Ten more people have died of dengue while 966 new patients have been hospitalised with the Aedes mosquito-borne disease across Bangladesh in the past 24 hours.
The Directorate General of Health Services, or DGHS, said as many as 474 were hospitalised in Dhaka among the new dengue patients until Saturday morning.
In addition, 147 were hospitalised in the Dhaka Division, 40 in the Mymensingh Division, 71 in the Chattogram Division, 81 in the Khulna Division, 21 in the Rajshahi Division, two in the Rangpur Division, 125 in the Barishal Division, and five in the Sylhet Division.
With the new counts, the number of hospitalised dengue patients has reached 63,165 this year. A total of 310 people died among them.
As many as 4,126 patients are currently undergoing treatment for dengue in hospitals across the country. They include 2,055 in the capital and 2,071 outside Dhaka.
