Narcotics Control Department (DNC) in two separate drives arrested two men with huge consignment of drugs worth about Taka 84.70 lakh from their respective houses at Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur district on Saturday.
"Acting on a tip off, a special DNC team arrested one person from Surongo village in Shalti Gopalpur union of the upazila and seized huge drugs worth Taka 84.40 lakh from his possession," Deputy Director of District DNC Biplob Kumar Modak told on Saturday night, reports BSS.
The seized contraband drugs include 650 gram of heroin, 28 gram of ice meth, 5,700 pieces of Yaba tablets and 180 ampoules of TT Jessic injections.
The arrested is Saidur Rahman Bullet, 37, son of Sultan Ahmed of the same village," Modok said.
Another DNC team arrested Madhob Chandra Sarker, 63, son of Rajanikant Sarker of village Joyram Jafarpur in Pairaband union of the same upazila and seized one-kg of ganja worth Taka 30,000 from his possession.
"After filing two separate cases in these connections under the Narcotics Control Act 2018, the arrested persons will be handed over to Mithapukur police station very soon," the DNC Deputy Director added.
