78 muggers held from Dhaka airport area in Oct

Police arrested 78 professional muggers from airport areas of the capital in the month of October.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) issued a press release in this regard on Saturday.

It said that police arrested the snatchers during the month while they were trying to mug the valuable belongings of pedestrians and foreign-bound passengers in various areas under the airport police station, including the airport roundabout area.

It said special teams of airport police station conducted regular operations in various places under its jurisdiction, including the roundabout area, to prevent snatching.

Each of the arrestee has several cases with different police stations of the Dhaka.
