Fisherman missing in Bagerhat after ship collided with another

A fisherman went missing after he fell into the river from his boat when a gas-laden foreign ship collided head-on with a laiter near Mongla Ghat in Bagerhat on Friday night.

The missing fisherman is Abdul Hakim, 18, hailed from Khulna district. 

It was learnt that a laiter ship named MV Mizan was heading to Jashore with coal from Mongla port When a foreign ship named MV Era Star, coming from the opposite direction, collided with it. As a result of this incident, five fishermen fell into the river from their boat. 

Although, four of them were rescued, Abdul Haim is still missing. 

Md Zakir, peti officer of West Zone Coast Guard, said that after getting information, two teams of coast guard personnel have been searching since morning, but have not yet found him
