Two individuals were injured in a clash during an arbitration meeting over a land dispute in Munshiganj's Sirajdikhan upazila on Saturday.

The incident occurred Saturday afternoon in Kathaltali village under Jainshar union of the upazila.

The injured individuals have been identified as Sarwar Hossain Ripon, son of Abul Khair from Kathaltali village, and his son, Alif.

According to Ripon's wife, Bilkis Akter Koli, there had been a long-standing land dispute with Ziaul Alam's family. A meeting was arranged by local Union Parishad Chairman Rafiqul Islam Dudu to resolve the issue.

"During the meeting, a group of hired attackers connected with Ziaul Alam launched an assault on my husband and son, leaving them bloodied and injured," Koli said.

Locals intervened and transported the injured to the upazila health complex. Due to the severity of his injuries, Ripon was later referred to Munshiganj Hospital for advanced treatment.

When contacted, UP chairman Rafiqul Islam Dudu did not respond to multiple calls for comments on the incident.

Sirajdikhan Police Station officer-in-charge Khondokar Hafizur Rahman said, "We have not yet received any formal complaint. If a complaint is filed, we will conduct a thorough investigation and take legal action."
