Missing boy’s body recovered from Padma

RAJBARI, Nov 1: Locals have recovered the body of a boy 39 hours after he went missing in Rajbari following a trip to bathe in the Padma River.

They recovered the body around 7am on Friday after it surfaced on the river, said Md Rakibul Islam, chief of Goalanda Jetty Police Station.

The deceased child, Zubayer, was the son of Lablu Sheikh from Kutir Haat in Rajbari Sadar Upazila.

Zubayer went missing after he went to bathe in the river at the Daulatdia Launch Jetty around 4pm on Wednesday. Locals searched for him in the river after he went missing but could not find him, the police officer said.

"When informed, a team of divers from the Fire Service and Civil Defence and the River Police conducted rescue missions on Wednesday and Thursday.    —bdnews24.com
