The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned all forms of public gathering in and around the central office of Jatiya Party (JaPa) at Kakrail in the capital on Saturday.
The DMP said meetings and rallies will not be allowed at Kakrail and adjoining areas in the capital.
It was stated in a public notice signed by DMP Commissioner Md Mainul Hasan on Friday (November 1) evening.
The public notice stated that in order to maintain public discipline to check the situation arisen out recently, the DMP has banned all kinds of meetings, rallies, processions, demonstrations etc near Building No. 66 at Pioneer Road, Pioneer Road, Kakrail and adjoining areas on Saturday (November 2) under the authority of Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance (Ordinance No. 76).
The DMP issued the public notice a day after demonstrations and counter-demonstrations were called at the Jatiya Party and Chhatra Odhikar Parishad at Kakrail on Thursday evening.
