Journo Moin's mother passes away

Mahmooda Khanam, mother of Business Desk in-charge of the national news agency Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) Golam Moin Uddin, died of old-age complications in a city hospital in the early hours of Thursday.

She was 79.

Mahmooda, who had been suffering from pneumonia and old-age complications, breathed her last at 1.04am while undergoing treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the city hospital.

She is survived by two sons, two daughters, a host of relatives and well wishers.

The first Namaz-e-Janaza of the deceased was held at Boro Station Mosque in Satpai area in Netrokona district town.

She was laid to rest at the family graveyard at Baghrua village in Netrakona Sadar upazila beside her late husband Kamar Uddin Ahmed's grave following her second namaz-e-janaza after Zohr prayers.     —BSS
