PIROJPUR, Oct 31: The Roads and Highways Department (RHD) on Wednesday demolished about 200 illegal establishments in the district town.

From the bypass road of Bangabandhu Chattar to Bolesswar Bridge, mobile courts were conducted.

Assistant Commissioner (AC-Land) Md Golam Mostafa led the mobile court along with police and members of fire services. Executive Engineer of the RHD Tanvir Ahmed and other officials were present.

Tanvir said, the RHD roadsides were occupied, halting vehicular movements and causing accidents; most of the occupants were tea shops, small vegetable shops, grocery shops, chambers of village doctors, medicine shops, and stationary shops.

More mobile courts will be conducted in the district, if needed, he added.
