Noted actor Masud Ali Khan has passed away.
He breathed his last at his Green Road residence in the capital around 4:20pm on Thursday (October 31).
His family confirmed the news to the media.
Masud Ali Khan was 95 years old. He had been suffering from various illnesses for the past few years. He had long been abstained from acting. Being suffered from old-age complications, he had been staying at his residence. He was also taken to hospital for treatment several times. However, all efforts to save his life went in vain.
However, his family members could not say when and where the late actor would be buried. They said he might be buried at his village home at Singair in Manikganj district.
Masud Ali Khan joined the country's first theatre group, Drama Circle, in 1956 and had been acting since then. The actor had been involved in the entertainment industry for over five decades.
Following the start of television centre at DIT Building in Dhaka in 1964, Masud Ali Khan started his career in small screen by acting in dramatist Nurul Momen's 'Bhai Bhai Sobai' drama, while he started his career in silver screen by acting in Sadeque Khan's film 'Nodi-o-Nari'. He acted in some 500 dramas over the last five decades.
Notable films featuring Masud Ali Khan include 'Dui Duari', 'Dipu Number 2' and 'Matir Moyna'. Some of his notable dramas are 'Kul Nai Kinar Nai', 'Ei Shob Din Ratri', and 'Kothao Keu Nei'.
