Justice for July, an organisation dedicated to safeguarding Bangladesh's post-revolution independence and ensuring justice for all involved in the July 24 uprising, held an introductory dialogue today at Jagannath University's Kathal Tala.
The gathering saw the presence of the organisation's central convener, Arefin Mohammad, and Assistant Secretary Mir Shibgatullah Taki, while Abrar Hamim, a member of the central committee, moderated the discussions.
Arefin Mohammad said, "The political uprising in July represents more than a single event-it signals the dawn of a new Bangladesh. The martyrs of July have set us on a challenging path, urging us to confront the vestiges of despotism, symbolised by the legacy of the Baksali Constitution of '72. Justice for July seeks not only to honor the martyrs and ensure proper care for the injured but to strive for justice for those responsible and establish a sustainable, democratic Bangladesh through meaningful constitutional reform."
Assistant Secretary Mir Shibgatullah Taki emphasised the vision of July's uprising as a collective expression of public aspiration, one that calls for the advancement of cultural and political tools.
"University students will play a central role to transform this vision into reality," he said.
The meeting ended adopting plans to establish a chapter of Justice for July at Jagannath University and organise public outreach initiatives to raise awareness and build momentum.
Students of different departments and batches attended the dialogue.
