Finance and Commerce Adviser Salehuddin Ahmed expressed satisfaction over the excellent bilateral relations between Dhaka and Ankara.
Encouraging Turkish business entrepreneurs to increase their trade in Bangladesh, he urged the Turkiye government to import more world standard Bangladeshi products.
"Bangladesh would like to advance a win-win trade relations with its longstanding friend Turkiye," the adviser said while addressing at the celebration of the Turkish Republic Day at a local Hotel on Tuesday evening.
Salehuddin attended the occasion as the chief guest while Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Ramis Sen, political leaders, journalists, diplomats from different countries stationed in Dhaka joined the programme.
To mark the 101st anniversary of the declaration of the Turkish Republic, the embassy hosted an event at a city hotel Tuesday evening bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Turkish Republic Day is being celebrated since 1925 on October 29, the day when Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk formally announced the new regime of Turkiye, after the fall of the Ottoman Empire and the War of Independence led by the late leader.
The Turkish ambassador highlighted the strong and deep rooted relations between Bangladesh and Turkey, saying, this year the two nations celebrated the 50th anniversary of establishment of their diplomatic relations. "It's a symbol of enduring friendship", the ambassador said.
