Four more die of dengue in a day

Four more people died of dengue and 1,154 new patients were hospitalised with the viral fever across the country in the last 24 hours till Wednesday morning.

According to the daily update of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), with the new counts, the number of hospitalised dengue patients has reached 60,574 so far this year, and 290 people died among them.
Of the deceased, two were reported in Chattogram division (Excluding city corporation), one in Dhaka division (Excluding CC) and one in Dhaka South City Corporation.

Some 1,200 people were released from the hospitals during the 24 hours period across the country, the DGHS data said.

Last year, 1,705 people lost their lives due to dengue, making it the deadliest year on record.
