Police have arrested two persons in connection with the killing of a leguna driver at Rampura of Dhaka city on Tuesday night over collecting money through extortion.
The arrestees were Md Sohel, 32, and Md Ratul Islam, 21.
According to the Badda Police Station, a case was filed with the police station against six named and three unnamed people.
A team of Badda police using the technical surveillance arrested the two accused.
On Tuesday, some boys in the area, including one Emon and his associates, attempted to collect money from drivers at the leguna stand in Banasree, Rampura Bridge. When the victim Hasan, 22 and Nurul Alam, 23 tried to resist, they stabbed both of them and fled.
Later, they were taken to the Emergency Department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where doctors declared Hasan dead.
According to Dhaka Medical Police Camp In-Charge Inspector Md Faruk, the body of Hasan has been sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
