Two crushed under train in Panchagarh, Chattogram

A schoolboy and a young man were crushed under train in separate incidents in two districts - Panchagarh and Chattogram, in two days.

PANCHAGARH: A teenage boy was crushed under a train in Sadar Upazila of the district on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Antar Roy Burmon, 15, son of Biren Burmon, a resident of Dhwanipara Village under Magura Union in the upazila. He was a ninth grader at Panchagarh Karotoa Collector Adarsha Shiksha Niketan.

Quoting locals, Magura Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Jyotish Chandra Roy said that people from the surrounding area rushed to the scene after hearing the sound. At that time, they saw the teenager wearing a school uniform was crushed under a train. They then informed the matter to police.

Being informed, Railway police recovered the body from the scene, the UP chairman added.

CHATTOGRAM: A young man was crushed under a train while crossing rail tracks in Sonapahar area under Mirsari Upazila of Chattogram District on Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Rajib Mohammad Roni, 26, hailed from Khillmurari area under Jorarganj Police Station.

It was known that a train hit Rajib while he was crossing the rail tracks in Sonapahar area at around 7 am to return home from the BSRM Steel Factory, which left him dead on the spot.

Being informed, police recovered the body from the scene and sent it to Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Sun-Inspector of Sitakunda Railway Police Outpost Faruk Hossain confirmed the incident, adding that necessary steps would be taken in this regard.
