Striker Tohura Khatun who netted five goals, the highest for a Bangladeshi scorer in the ongoing SAFF Women's Championship so far, is the life force of the current Bangladesh women's national football team.

The charming footballer from Mymensingh first got the chance to display her skills as a substitute player for the Bangladesh side in the 2015 AFC U-14 Girls' Regional (South & Central) Championship where she scored one goal against Bhutan.

That was only the beginning. She was adjudged the top scorer of the 2016 AFC U-14 Girls' Regional (South & Central) Championship after scoring 10 goals in four matches. There, she made a greater contribution to the team's retaining the title at that time.

She was able to play only one match against Nepal in the 2017 SAFF U-15 Women's Championship due to injury. But made a hat-trick in that match scoring three and still was the top score of Bangladesh in the tournament.

With steady good performances in the next age-based events, she finally got into the senior women's team in 2018.

In the 2022 SAFF Women's Championship, Tohura along with Krishna Rani Sarkar and Sirat Jahan Swapna played a vital role in keeping opponents' defence line busy from all sides. Tohura scored one in the 8-0 match against Bhutan in the semi-final.

In the ongoing 2024 SAFF Women's Championship, Bangladesh stormed into the final with a 7-1 win over Bhutan in the semis.

There, Tohura made a hat-trick scoring three goals. She is the highest goals scorer of the Bangladesh team so far, netting five. But that was not all, for the Bangladesh team coming this far, Tohura made a remarkable contribution.

Whenever the spectators see Tohura advancing towards the goal, they start cheering for her as the charming striker has a good vibe about her that she may turn the table any moment and probably that is why the opponent defenders were seen sweating over while marking her in the danger area.

The Enchanting Tohura always try to make a scope, breach the defence line and score, or try to make way for others. This amazing playmaker also assisted the fellow booters score in the previous matches which made it easier for Bangladesh to come this far.

Therefore, it is very natural that the fans will be expecting more from her in the final of the tournament which is scheduled to be played on Wednesday, the 30th of October at the Dasharath Rangasala in Kathmandu, Nepal.
