A Jubo League activist was allegedly beaten to death by miscreants in Rajshahi city on Saturday night.
The dead was Meem, 25, son of Abdul Momin of Ramchandrapur area under Rajshahi metropolis.
It was known that some unknown persons left him in a bloody state in front of the emergency department at Rajshahi Medical College (RMC) Hospital around 9:30 pm. The hospital trolleymen rescued him and took to the emergency department.
Later, he died while undergoing treatment at around 10:30 pm.
It was alleged that Meem was a close relative and associate of Jubo League leader Rubel, who fired with both hands at the students of the anti-discrimination student movement during the mass uprising of August 5.
Rajshahi's Boalia Police Inspector (OC-Investigation) Tajmul Islam said the body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy. The police officer also said that necessary legal measures are being taken in the incident.
