DAULATPUR, KUSHTIA, Oct 26: Police detained one more accused in connection with the murder of Philipnagar Union Parishad (UP) chairman Noim Uddin Sentu in Daulatpur Upazila of the district on Thursday.
The arrested is Nayeem Hossain, 22, son of Mohsin Sarder of Philipnagar area.
He was arrested from Laxmipur Town at around 4 am. On Friday, he was sent to the jail.
Daulatpur Police Station (PS) Inspector Tarequl Haque confirmed the matter. Earlier, members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested the main accused in the case Tariqul Islam Tuku from Gobindapur area in Pabna on October 14 last.
It is to be noted that Philipnagar UP chairman Noim Uddin Sentu was shot to death at his office at around 11:30 am on September 30 last over establishing supremacy in the area.
In this regard, the deceased's son Ahsan Habib lodged a murder case with Daulatpur PS on October 1.
