Fallen Silence

Published : Saturday, 26 October, 2024 at 12:00 AM  Count : 5546
Life is a dawn. The sun rose long ago,
Yet sorrow clings like a noon heat
That's burns slowly.
A leaf slips from a bird's careless beak.
I name it silence, fragile, weak.

In earthen hoe, in the pitch-black night,
A faint oil lamp flickers,
Swallowed by sudden flight:
A beetle's touch causes its light to cease.
I name it death, a quiet release.

This bright sun, this scorching noon,
This rotten fallen hush,
And sudden death, arriving with a rush.
Do we, as humans, truly understand,
How much a drop of water can withstand?
