Info Ministry gets new Secy

The government on Wednesday appointed a new secretary to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry and two divisional commissioners in Dhaka and Rangpur Divisions.

The new Information and Broadcasting Secretary is Mahbuba Farzana, who was an officer on special duty (OSD) additional secretary to the Public Administration Ministry.

In the notification issued on Wednesday, the Public Administration Ministry stated that Mahbuba Farzana was given a promotion to the rank of secretary, and posted to the information ministry.

The post of secretary of the ministry was vacant since last few days.

Meanwhile, Local Government Division's Additional Secretary Sharaf Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury was made new commissioner for Dhaka division and Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) Director Shahidul Islam was made commissioner of Rangpur division.

Besides, Youth and Sports Ministry's Additional Secretary Khaled Rahim was transferred to the Cabinet Division as Additional Secretary while Youth and Sports Ministry's Additional Secretary Dr. Md. Abul Hossain, Bureau of Non-Formal Education Director General Dr. Abul Kalam Azad and Health Education and Family Planning Division's Additional Secretary AHM Lokman were made OSD.
