A man was killed and seven other were injured after a head-on collision between two buses at Shibpur upazila in Narsingdi district on Thursday afternoon.
The accident took place in Soyadnagar area on the Dhaka-Sylhet in the upazila.
The deceased was identified as Shah Akam, 56.
Eyewitnesses said that a bus of Fahima Enterprise coming from Dhaka collided with a bus of Diganta paribahan, coming from the opposite direction, leaving eight passengers from the both buses.
They were rescued and taken to Narsingdi District Hospital, where the on-duty doctors declared Shah Alam dead.
Among injured, three have been sent to Dhaka for advance treatment.
Md Sohel Rana, officer-in-charge of Itakhola Highway Police Station, confirmed the matter.
