Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) authorities have suspended the movement of launch to all routes due to inclement weather caused by Cyclone Dana.

The ministry of shipping confirmed this in a press release on Thursday.

Launch services have been halted on the routes from Dhaka to Hatia, Betua, Aishbagh, Rangabali and Char Montaz until further notice due to the issuance of cautionary signal No 3 at maritime ports and No 2 at river ports.
Additionally, single-engine water vehicles operations have also been halted.

There is no possibility of the cyclone to make landfall in Bangladesh. It is expected to strike Odisha and West Bengal either late Thursday night or early Friday morning.
