5 AL men held in Narayanganj

Police arrested five Awami League leaders and activists from various places in Narayanganj's Sonargaon upazila on Tuesday night.

The arrested men are Md Alahuddin Bhuya, president of the 3 No Ward AL unit under Naogaon union in the upazila; Delower Hossain Jalal, vice-president of Jampur union Jubo League; and Awami League activists Anar Hossain, Mridul Mia, and Sohidullah Miah.
They were all shown arrested in a case filed over the murder of a pedestrian during the Anti-Discrimination Movement on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway on August 4, 2024.

Confirming this, the officer-in-charge of Sonargaon Police Station, Md Abdul Bari, said that the arrested individuals have been sent to court.
