Train services with Khulna snapped as 8 oil tankers derail

Khulna's train communication with the rest of the country disrupted as eight oil tankers of a Khulna-bound freight train derailed near Ansarbaria station at Jibannagar upazila of Chuadanga early Wednesday.

Uthli Railway's Station Master Mintu Roy said that around 3AM, eight tankers of a Khulna-bound train derailed near the 11-number point of the railway line close to Ansarbaria station.

A rescue train from Ishurdi in Pabna has been working on the spot since dawn. 

Chuadanga station Master Mizanur Rahman said, "The rescue operation is in progress and train operations may resume after the rescue work is complete."

Several trains got stuck at different points, causing immense suffering to the commuters.
