The Anti-Discrimination Student Movement has demanded resignation of President Mohammed Shahabuddin and issued an ultimatum to ban the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the student-wing of Awami League, by Thursday.

Demonstrators under the banner of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement organised a mass rally at the Central Shaheed Minar premises in the capital on Tuesday afternoon and called for banning the Bangladesh Chhatra League by Thursday terming it a "terrorist" orgaisation.
Issuing the ultimatum from the rally, one of the coordinators of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Abdul Hannan Masud said, "Thousands of people died in the hands of Chhatra League. So, they don't have any right to do politics in this country."

Jatiya Nagorik Committee's convener Nasir Uddin Patwari said Mohammed Shahabuddin was a close associate of fascist Hasina government. So, people don't want to see him as the president of the state anymore.

"If Mohammed Shahabuddin doesn't resign, students and people will take to the street to acvhieve their final victory again," he said.

Coordinator Hasnat Abdullah said President Mohammed Shahabuddin would have to be ousted by this week. Besides, three last general elections, pro-Mujib culture and constitution would have to be cancelled. "The associates of Sheikh Hasina should be cautious," he said.

Another coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, Sarjis Alam, said: "Chhatra League is trying to raise its head again. There are strains of blood of students and people on their bodies. "They must be banned at any cost."

Coordinator Abu Baker Mazumder said Chhatra League has been committing misdeeds one after another in the name of Mujibism. They attacked the student movement first. It is quite surprising that Mohammed Shahbuddin is still occupying the post of president. He must be forced to resign as early as possible.
