Students block Nilkhet, Science Lab intersections

A group of students of seven colleges affiliated to Dhaka University blocked Nilkhet and Science Lab intersections demanding establishment of a new university for the seven colleges.

At 12noon, around 2,000 students brought out a procession and blocked Nilkhet intersections. Later, they went towards Science Lab and took position there.

A long tailback has created in and around the areas as the protesters barred those to move.
The protesters warned that they will continue their movement till to form a committee or commission for the new university.

They held a press briefing where they made three demands--a commission should be formed to establish the seven colleges affiliated to Dhaka University as a university immediately and the commission should be sub,it the report within 30 days after discussion with the stakeholders. Apart from this, till it is established as an autonomous university, there will be arrangements to continue the uninterrupted education programem of seven colleges under Dhaka University.
