The Adviser's Council Committee on Government Procurement (ACCGP) on Sunday approve separate proposals for procurement of 55 lakh litters of soybean oil and 1.5 lakh tonnes of fertilizer to meet the country's growing domestic needs.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed presided over the meeting held at the cabinet room of Bangladesh secretariat. .
The ACCGP meeting also approved a total of five proposals, according to documents provided by the Ministry of Finance.
Following three separate proposals, Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) would procure 1.20 lakh tonnes of DAP fertilizer from three companies of China, Morocco and Saudi Arabia under state-level agreements at around Taka 872.52 crore.
The three companies are Banyan International Trading Limited of China, OCP of Morocco and MA'ADEN of Saudi Arabia.
Following another proposal, Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) would procure some 30,000 tonnes of bulk granular urea fertilizer under state-level agreement in the current fiscal year from SABIC Agri-nutrients Company, Saudi Arabia at around Taka 129.35 crore where per ton fertilizer would cost $359.33.
In response to another proposal state-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will procure some 55 lakh liters of soybean oil under local Open Tender Method from City Edible Oil Limited at around Taka 86.84 crore where per liter soybean oil would cost Taka 157.90.
