Ferry movement suspended 2 hours in Paturia Ghat

The ferry movement between the Paturia-Daulatdia river route was suspended for two hours due to dense fog, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Ghat sources said.

Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC) Paturia Ghat Assistant General Manager (AGM) Abdus Salam said BSS the ferry movement was suspended at 5 am this morning as the river of the Padma was blanketed with dense fog which disrupted the visibility, adding that after two hours at 7 am the ferry movement was started after the fog disappeared, BSS reports.

During this period all the nine ferries plied between Paturia-Daulatdia were anchored at Paturia Ghat as the dense fog was centralized at Paturia Ghat areas only, he added that all the South-West districts bound vehicles were stranded at the ghat with passengers.
