According to the case statement, on August 14, a dispute over planting palm saplings along a boundary line escalated, during which Taha, Joha, and several others attacked the victim Sultan Ahmed from the same area. They struck him on the head with an iron rod in front of his home, causing severe injuries.

Sultan was initially admitted to Joypurhat General Hospital but as his condition worsened, he was transferred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for better treatment. Following the incident, Sultan's wife, Pori Banu, filed a murder case at Joypurhat Sadar Police Station.

Later, the arrested individuals have been handed over to Joypurhat Sadar Police Station for further legal proceedings, according to the RAB officials.
