There is no legal bar for cricketer Shakib Al Hasan to return to the country, said Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, adviser to the Youth and Sports and Labour and Employment Ministries, on Tuesday.
He came up with the information at views exchange event at the media centre in the Secretariat today.
When asking about his arrest while returning to the country, the adviser said, "Legal matters are legal matters, I cannot comment on that issue. One thing is sub judice and the other is that the Ministry of Law can give the concerned answer."
"We must ensure the safety of every player. It is our responsibility. I have learned, so far, that there is no legal bars fo Shakib."
Asif Mahmud added, "If the court issues any orders, that is the matter of the court."
