Collision between two boats leaves teenager dead in Tangail

A teenage boy died in a collision between two boats in the Jhenai river in Tangail's Kalihati on Sunday afternoon. 

The accident took place around 4 pm in Puraton Thana Ghat area under ​​Kalihati municipality.
The dead Apu Pal, 13, son of Bishnu Pal, was a resident of Dakshin Betdoba village of Kalihati municipality.

Kalihati Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Kalam Bhuiyan said, local people were traveling with different boats just before the immersion of the idols of Goddess Durga. At that time, the boy was on a boat. Around 4 pm, two boats collided due to high speed. Apu Pal were seriously injured. 

With the help of locals, police rescued Apu Pal and took to Kalihati Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
